

Elwood Grant Stump, 93, formerly of Lebanon Township, NJ passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024 in Cape Coral, FL. Elwood was born on October 24, 1931 in Petersburg, WV, to the late Edward and Sadie Stump.
He was a graduate of Petersburg High School and served in the US Army as Corporal during the Korean War. He was a member and Past Master of Host Masonic Lodge No. 6 in High Bridge; NJ, served as Grand Chaplain for the State of New Jersey; was a member of the Crescent Shrine No. 64; past Grand Tall Cedar of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon No. 13 and was Past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star No. 166. He was of Methodist faith. Elwood worked in construction and as a heavy equipment operator, owning his own company for many years. Elwood loved his horses and was an avid fisherman. He was always the life of the party. Above all, Elwood loved spending time with his family.
Elwood is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Mayselle, and their children, Jean (Dewey), Carma (Paul), Mike (Karen); Grandchildren, Pamela (Aaron) and Emily (Anthony). He also leaves behind a Great Grandson, Broeden; Sister, Georgia Whetzel and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Johnny; brothers, Junior, Ray, and sisters, Iona, Eurania, Ruth, and Mary Lou.
He will be remembered as a loving, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
