Enoch Irod Elvin
February 15, 1948 – July 6, 2018
Enoch Irod Elvin, age 70, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Friday July 6, 2018. Enoch was born February 15, 1948 in St Johns Antigua to Enoch I and Geraldine Elvin. He attended the Moravian Primary School after which he was enrolled at the Antigua Boys School. From there he attended the Antigua Grammar School. He had an avid love for "pole vaulting" and had represented his school at the Antigua Recreation Grounds in the annual athletics meet. He was rewarded for his efforts with a silver medal. After graduating from school, Enoch (also commonly known as "Knoxie") went to work at the Bryson's Shipping Department as a shipping clerk. There after he joined the staff at the Leeward Islands Air Transportation service (L.I.A.T). In 1976 he migrated to the United States and joined the staff of the Trans Atlantic Shipping Company -Yang Ming Lines. He then furthered his education at the Fordham University and acquired a bachelor's degree , majoring in social studies.
Enoch was most often a very jovial and pleasant person and being a twin he was referred to as the "friendly one" which was partly responsible for his marriage on April 27, 1997 to Hilary. This union did not produce any children, but Terre Blizzard was considered by Enoch as his son. They had a special bond of devoted love to each other.
Enoch was the eighth of eight children and he leaves to mourn him his sisters: Myrna and Elaine an brothers: Carl, Patrick and Elsworth (twin to Enoch). He also leaves many nieces and nephews as well as dear friends all over the world.
A visitation for Enoch's life will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, Florida 33991. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, Florida 33991. A burial will follow at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd, Cape Coral, Florida 33991.
