

Floyd Oney, 77, of Cape Coral entered Heaven on Monday, April 13, 2020. Born March 24, 1943 in McArthur, Ohio, Floyd was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1960-1963 aboard the USS Forrestal (CVA-59) and worked as an electrician for Morrison Electric Inc. for 40 years. He was a member and elder of Cape Coral Community Church for 20 years and was a devoted follower of the Lord and led many people to God, teaching them God’s word, praying for those he knew and taking prayer requests for anyone in need. Floyd was an avid fisherman and always enjoyed a good day on the lake catching bass.
Floyd is survived by his spouse of 9 years, Claudette Oney; daughters Cynthia Harmon, Joella Alexander (Roger), Amy Coppola, Susan Corujo (Adrian), and Lisa Lolly; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters and many nieces and nephews. Floyd was proceeded in death by his parents Emma and Reece Oney; his wife of 9 years, Diana, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Floyd will be missed by all who knew him. We will remember his legacy by one if his favorite verses, “but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” Isiah 40:31 (KJV).
