Frank D. “Frankie” Serio, Jr., 76, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully after a very brief illness on Monday, March 9, 2026, in Fort Myers, Florida. A resident of Cape Coral since 1983 and formerly of New York, Frankie was born on December 14, 1949, in Mount Vernon, New York, to the late Frank D. Serio, Sr. and Edna (Cranford) Serio.
Frankie lived a life marked by devotion—to his family, to his work, to his country, and above all, to his faith. A proud United States Army National Guard Veteran, he carried the values of service and discipline throughout his life. In New York, he owned Vernon Moving and Storage alongside his brother, John, building a business grounded in integrity and hard work. After relocating to Florida, he dedicated 18 years to Coca-Cola, earning the respect of colleagues through his reliability and unwavering work ethic. For the past 15 years, he brought that same spirit to Periwinkle Place on Sanibel Island, where he became a familiar and cherished presence.
Frankie was, at his core, a man who believed in giving—of his time, his strength, his kindness, and his heart. He lived by the motto, “The heart that gives, gathers,” and his life was a testament to that truth. He loved the Lord deeply and placed his faith at the center of everything he did. Outside of work, he found joy in traveling across the United States, embracing the beauty of nature, and tending to the many fruit trees he planted with care in his own yard.
Those who knew him will remember his humility, his gentle humor, his steadfastness, and the way he made every person feel seen and valued. Frankie worked hard, loved deeply, and lived gratefully—qualities that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
Frankie is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marilyn; two step children, Tim and Tina; two siblings, Theresa Serio and John Serio; as well as several grandchildren, extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on March 25, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Frankie will be laid to rest following the services in Coral Ridge Memorial Park and Cremation Gardens.
