OBITUARY

Gary Stephen Allo

June 19, 1954September 2, 2019

Our devoted hero, Gary S. Allo died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family, Sept. 2, 2019. Gary, son of Elizabeth and Frank Allo, was born in 1954 and raised in White Plains, New York. He attended St. John the Evangelist Grammar School and Woodlands High School. After graduation, Gary was a sought after and talented car mechanic. In 1984, Gary fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming one of White Plains Bravest – a firefighter! He proudly served for 22 years! Firefighter Allo was courageous, volunteering to respond to the World Trade Center 9/11 disaster. He considered it an honor to serve with a search and rescue task force that was dedicated to the recovery of fallen brothers. In 2012, Gary and Marybeth relocated to Cape Coral, Florida, to enjoy their retirement. They enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, and watching sunsets from their boat. In 1979, Gary married his love, Marybeth Morton. Together they shared seven beautiful children. Gary Allo (Michelle) of Virginia, Candi Ogozareck (Alex) of Pennsylvania, Kimberly Kelleher (Ken) of Connecticut and Katie Donnelly (Brian), Casey Allo (Jennifer) , Karianne Whitehurst (Matt) and Kelly Allo (G) of Cape Coral, Florida. Gary is remembered by 12 glorious grandchildren: Harrison, Carter, Noah, Kera, Katrina, Kaden, Megan, Brendon, James, Tristan, Kendall, and Brittin. He is also survived by 5 dear brothers and sisters: Janet Pellicone of Connecticut, Diana Schwartzenberg (Mark) of North Carolina, Frank (Sandy) of Florida, Maria of New York, and Robert (Julia) of Florida. Gary, or Hunter, as he was referred to by family and friends, loved fishing, hunting, golfing, boating and was a devout fan of the New York Yankees. He took pride in attending his grandsons’ baseball games, and could create or repair anything. Gary was a man for all seasons. To know him was to know a strength that cannot be defined by words. His love of drums and music will forever be played and heard in our hearts. Memorial donations may be made to Kelly’s program: Exceptional Entrepreneurs 601 Del Prado North, suite 1-3, Cape Coral, FL, 33990. Executive Director Margaret Wear 239-292-3508 www.egracechurch.com/ee The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am on September 16, 2019 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church.

Gary and I grew up almost like brother's when we were Young . His mother aunt Betty watched me and my sister all the time and that left Gary and I lots of time to play. As the year's went by we continued having fun into are teenage year's. We fished made club houses camped out for many many years. Then we both found are loves and married and started are families. Gary my cousin you'll be Missed.

Rest in Peace and thanks for your service in the White Plains Fire Department. I have good memories visiting Frank and Betty with my cousin Fran and Sammy Allo, watching all the kids grow up and start their families. My deepest sympathies to Mary Beth and the Allo family.

We have known Gary, Mary Beth, & Kelly for only 1 1/2 years but immediately knew what a blessing this amazing family is. Our hearts are heavy with Gary's passing, but believe he is in a better place with our Lord and Savior. Mary Beth, please know you will be on our hearts these next few days, weeks, months, and years. Kelly will always be a ray of sunshine for us every week at EE. Her contagious smile, and love for her dogs, brings us such joy each and every week. God bless the Allo family.
