George Francis James Jr.

GEORGE F. JAMES, JR. – George F. James Jr., died unexpectedly on April 2, 2022 at Cape Coral Hospital. He was born March 4, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA the son of George F. James, Sr and Beatrice James (McIver). George always showed a great love for innovation and technology which drove his passion to join the United States Air Force in December 1957. He ascended to the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant and retired after 28 years of honorable service to his country in June of 1986.

After his retirement from the Air Force, George continued his service to the nation in multiple roles working for Department of Defense contractors as an Electrical Engineer helping to develop and maintain the various projects across the aerospace industry in Colorado Springs. George and Astrid finally retired to Cape Coral, FL in 2000 were he consistently served the local community in official election procedural processes to help ensure the integrity of our critical democratic system.

George is survived by his beloved wife Astrid A. James and son Nathan James; his former wife Elouise T. James and their three sons George F. James III, Daric A. James, Christopher M. James; six grandchildren Savannah James, Carter James, Mason James, Grant James, Gavin James, and Averi James; two sisters Margaret James - Edwards and Beverly (James) Hamlet; and two brothers Paul and Michael James.

A small family remembrance will be held on April 7, 2022 at the Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Coral Ridge Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd. South, Cape Coral FL, from 1:00 – 2:00pm. Funeral service information will be provided later as George will be transferred to California where he will be laid to rest closer to his surviving family members.
