George L. Sylvia

George was born on May, 9th 1947 in New Bedford, MA, the only child to Leonard and Irene Sylvia. He met the love of his life, Audrey Sylvia, in 1982 in New Bedford. George served in the US Navy for 2 years and was a committed officer to the Acushnet Police Department until retirement.

Aside from his dedication to his work, George loved his family more than anything. He has left behind his beloved wife Audrey; 2 sons Jamie (Lisa) and Jonathan Sylvia; 7 grandchildren Amy, Mitchell, Mackenzie, Madison, Gavin, Cameron and Andrai; brother-in-law Robert (Janet) Spicer, sister-in-law Patricia Alphonse, and brother-in-law Fredrick Spicer.

Preceded in death by both of his parents and brother-in-law William Spicer.

George had an extensive “Beach Family” who he enjoyed his time with. George loved sitting by the water, going to the beach and hosting pool parties for his friends. George will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and will forever be cherished by the memories he's instilled in those around him.

A gathering for George will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Blvd S., Cape Coral, FL on Thursday, September 25th from 4 - 5:30pm with a Celebration of Life to follow.
