Gerard was born in Brooklyn in 1932. He joined the US Army in 1950 and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with distinction, earning the Bronze Star for actions in combat. In 1953 he married the love of his life, Concetta, and had two children. Gerard worked for the City of New York and retired after 20 years of service. After retirement, Gerard and Connie moved to Cape Coral where they spent the rest of their lives.
Gerard was a kind and loving partner to his wife, Concetta, of nearly 70 years, who preceded him in death. He was an amazing father to their son Gerard, who also sadly preceded him in death, daughter Joan, and Son in Law Mark. Gerard had three grandchildren, Gerard, Jaimie, Stephanie, and great- grandchildren Benjamin, Anjelo, Aria, and Mariana who he loved with all his heart. Gerard was also a beloved brother, survived by his sister Tina, and had many nieces and nephews.
Gerard and Connie travelled everywhere together, visiting over a dozen countries, on several continents. They sailed through the Panama Canal twice, and even went around the horn in South America. Gerard also loved animals and had so many throughout the years, it would be impossible to list all of them. Gerard loved baseball, especially the New York Yankees. We all enjoyed hearing his stories about the old days of Dimaggio and Mantle. And finally, Gerard’s favorite song was “My Way”, and that is exactly how he chose to live his life.
A Celebration of Gerard DiFalco's Life will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home 1630 SW Pine Island Rd Cape Coral FL 33991.
