Gerianne (Gallagher) McBrearty

Gerianne (Gallagher) McBrearty, age 59, of Cape Coral, FL, died suddenly Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Born in Norristown, PA, Gerianne was a long-time resident of the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, PA, moving to Florida in 2011.

Gerianne was married to the love of her life, John, since 2010.

In addition to John, Gerianne is survived by John’s daughter Nina and his son Eric, as well as her step granddaughter, Ava Machado. She is also survived by her brother, Kevin (Jodie) Gallagher, and her sisters Maureen (Hank Hagquist) Bodkin, Jean Marie (Kevin) Kennedy, Colleen (David) Maier, Erin (Joseph) Capriotti, and Kate Gallagher, as well as numerous cousins. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews whom she loved dearly and was always a huge supporter and cheerleader in everything they did.

Gerianne was preceded in death by her loving mother, Anne Gallagher, and her beloved brother, Brian (Trish) Gallagher, John’s son Carl, and many aunts and uncles.

Gerianne earned her BSW and her MSW degrees from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and worked for many years with at-risk youths in both PA and FL. She may have lived in Florida, but her heart was always in Philly. She remained a fan of the Philadelphia sports teams and whenever she met anyone in Florida from Philadelphia, she loved to happily reminisce about her hometown with them.

Services are currently pending and will be held in the Philadelphia area. As a parting gift and evidence of her generosity, Gerianne donated her body to science so that others can learn from her life.
