Mrs. Nelson was the definition of "Nurse". As a new Nurse at Lee Memorial Hospital , and just out of the Air Force, she welcomed me into her work family. From day one, she had my back. She continually shared her knowledge and compassionate ways to all who crossed her path. She always had a smile and a word of encouragement. I had the honor of working with her for 38 years.
What a joy she was. She was one of the best.

Until I came to work at Lee Memorial only my Mother had called me Donnie. Ms. Nelson changed that. In my mind she epitomized the title "Nurse." She made it a point to know all who came on her shift, one of the most professional, caring people I've ever known. The world is lessened with the loss of that beautiful, twinkling smile.

Mrs. Nelson was such a caring person but alway professional. My mother is from Luxembourg and taught herself to read and write English. Mrs. Nelson always helped her with her spelling without anyone knowing. She was always there for my mom. She provided the best care a patient could want. Lee Memorial could never replace her. My condolences to her family.

My beloved Aunt. So many great memories down at Hidden Valley, Aunt Gert's House, and my visits to Florida. You and Uncle Roger were so kind, caring, and a joy to be around. I love you and will forever be missed.
