James was born in Middleton, Ohio, to Phyllis and Lloyd Barrett. He was a graduate of Madison High School class of 1981 and took heavy equipment operator courses in Indiana, in 1981. He came to Florida in the '80's and immediately started working. He had stripes on his Ford truck that read "I survived I-75 and 41", because coming from a smaller town, this was a big world. Jim drove a big 18-wheeler out west and rode with a long time friend that owned a trucking company. He had lots of good memories of the two of them. Jim is a true Patriot. He loved his country, however never quite understood thy Why's of politics. He was very concerned about the direction our country is going.
Jim loved the outdoors. City life wasn't really for his liking. Jim enjoyed his Country Music, hunting, his love for guns and prize shooting, Western movies and anything and everything American.
A celebration of life for James will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
