James R. Marks

James R. "Jim" Marks, 55, of Cape Coral, FL passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013. He was born October 27, 1957 to Harry C. and Elizabeth "Betty" in Waverly, IA. As much as Jim loved Iowa, he couldn't wait to move to FL with Molly in 1980. They settled in Cape Coral in 1982 and after owning Jim Marks Roofing, Inc. for 20 years and afterwards retiring from the roofing business, Jim opened House of Drums, traveling the country with various bands and playing his drums for the next 10 years. Jim and Molly planned to retire in Rabun County, GA where he was active in the real estate business. Throughout his life, Jim was passionate about his family, his work ethic and achieving new goals.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years Molly; 2 loving daughters Elizabeth (Michael) Ruth and Michelle (Christopher) Haberman; one cherished granddaughter Madison Ruth; dear brother Jeff (Gail) Marks; nephew Jake (Melanie) Marks of Atlanta, GA and niece Amanda (Joe) Mastroianni of Naperville, IL.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23rd at Coral Ridge Funeral Home in Cape Coral between 10 – 11am with memorial service to follow.
