Janet Marie Leone

Janet Marie Leone, 83, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born on May 6, 1942, in East Aurora, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Melley) Codd.

Family was the center of Janet’s world. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family, and her presence brought joy, laughter, and a sense of togetherness wherever she went. Her love for them was unwavering and deeply felt.

During her working years, Janet built a career defined by dedication and professionalism. She served as the Operations Manager in Sears Credit Central Division before transitioning into real estate, where she became a longtime and well respected realtor in Cape Coral. Her work ethic, warmth, and natural ability to connect with people made her a trusted figure in the community.

Janet lived life with energy, humor, and an unmistakable spark. She was the life of the party and loved going out on the town with friends and family. She enjoyed golfing—especially with her daughter, Terri and step son, Sam—and found peace and happiness on the water while boating. Janet was also an active member of the Moose, Elks, and Eagle Lodges in Cape Coral, where she formed many lasting friendships.

A proud sports fan, Janet followed her beloved Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders with passion and loyalty, cheering them on through every season.

Janet will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her generosity, and the love she poured into the people around her. Her legacy lives on in the countless memories she created and the lives she touched.

Janet is survived by her loving partner of 10 years, Robert Conley; daughter, Terri Barnaby (Ed); two step children, Delana Schneider (Richard) and Sam Leone (Sandra Smith); two siblings, Barbara Hanlon and Greg Codd; four grandchildren, Alicia (Andrew), Alan (Lily), Christie (Jenny) and Marissa (Jeff); three adored great grandchildren, Jack, Abigail and Lena. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Leone; sister, May Miller; sister-in-law, Barbara Codd and her brother-in-law, Tom Hanlon.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Monday, April 27, 2026 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S., Cape Coral, FL. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 12 Noon, Monday, April 27, 2026 at the funeral home. Following the services Janet will be laid to rest in the Tranquility Mausoleum at Coral Ridge Memorial Park, Cape Coral, FL.
