Jayson Timothy Jackson McDaniel, 21, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Cape Coral, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at his home. Born on April 29, 2004, in Haiti, Jayson—known to many simply as Jay—brought light, laughter, and unmistakable style to every space he entered.
Jay was a man with a million dollar smile, the kind that made people feel instantly at ease. His impeccable fashion sense was more than a hobby; it was an expression of his creativity, confidence, and joy. Whether he was dressed for work or a casual day out, Jay always carried himself with a unique flair that made him unforgettable.
Curious and endlessly motivated, Jay enjoyed working out, exploring electronics, and diving into new languages—each one a doorway to understanding people and cultures. He had a deep love for mountains and sunsets, finding peace and inspiration in the beauty of the natural world.
For the past three years, Jay worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs, a role he cherished. He loved spending time with the Veterans, listening to their stories, and building connections that meant as much to him as they did to those he served. His compassion and humor made him a bright spot in their days.
Jay’s sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts. He had a way of lighting up a room simply by walking into it, bringing warmth, energy, and laughter wherever he went. His presence was magnetic, his kindness genuine, and his spirit unforgettable.
Jay is survived by his loving parents, Tim and Dawn McDaniel; one sister, Rebekah McDaniel and her Fiancé, Blake Viator; one brother, Brennan McDaniel; maternal grandparents, Joe and Donni Russo; paternal grandparents, Ken and Jane McDaniel; two dogs, Wray and Oliver; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S., Cape Coral, FL 33991. The family invites friends for a time of visitation from 12:00 PM until the service time at the funeral home.
Jay will be deeply missed by all who knew him, loved him, and were touched by his vibrant life.
