

Jerome "Jerry" Leonard Albers, Jr., 78, of Cape Coral, FL on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Jerry passed away peacefully under the compassionate care of Hope Hospice, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, adventure, and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Born on August 4, 1946, in Baltimore, MD, Jerry was the beloved son of the late John and Gladys (Colk) Albers. He was a proud United States Army Veteran. Throughout his life, he embraced every opportunity to experience the world and the wonders within it. Twelve years ago, Jerry met and married his loving wife, Joyce, and together they built a life filled with exploration and adventure—traveling more in those years than he ever had before.
Jerry had an insatiable curiosity for life, often finding joy in antiquing, collecting treasures, and observing the owls in his neighborhood. His warm-hearted generosity knew no bounds; he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Those close to him will fondly remember his signature phrase, “Another first for Jerry,” a testament to his excitement for new experiences and his zest for life.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; step-daughter, Vicki Mere and her husband, Tony; four grandchildren, Curtis (Tiffani), Chuck (Rene), Caitlynn (Micah) and Chris; five great grandchildren, Raelynn, Savannah, Walker, Theodore and Madelyn; as well as many extended family members and friends.
His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love he shared with those around him.
A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Breeze Church, 7101 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers, FL 33917.
Jerry’s journey may have come to an end, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
