

Jerrold (Dick) Richard Scribner Age: 79 Passed away Nov. 2, 2025 in his home in Cape Coral, Florida with his wife by his side. Dick was born: Oct. 10, 1946 in Charleston, IL. He was the 6th child of 7, born to Richard and Virginia (Shoot) Scribner.
Survived by his Wife: Kandy (Hobbs) of 36 yrs., Daughters: Mary Scribner of Colorado and Laural Scribner of Oklahoma, Son Cory Scribner of Cape Coral and Step-daughter Jamie Henry of Colorado, four grandchildren and three great-grand children. Also, survived by sisters: Joyce Wilson, Janet Bough of Charleston, IL and Jackie Butler of Mattoon, IL and Brother Jay Scribner of Branson, MO. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Jerry and James Scribner.
He graduated Charleston High, Class of 1964. Started his college education at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City TN in 1964. Dick was a Vietnam Veteran and served from 1966 to 1969, deployed 1967 to 1969. Returned to Charleston, IL to finish his BA while working as an officer for the Charleston Police Dept. Upon graduation, he sighed up with the USAF and moved to Fort Worth, TX in 1973. Graduated Officer's school in April of that same year. Capt. Scribner was a the Weapons Officer on a B-52. Released from Active Duty Apr. 1977 and discharged from the USAF Reserves in 1992. He bought a franchise in that same year and moved to the Peoria, IL area. Worked at Honeywell, Inc. 1981 to 2001, State of Illinois from 2001 to 2002, USDA from 2002 to 2014 at which time he retired. He moved to Cape Coral, FL in 2017.
