57 years ago I was put up for adoption, around 25 years ago Jerry, my birth father, came back into my life.  We shared many moments together it was so interesting to see Jerry loved tennis and playing pool, as did I.  Heredity or environment?  Jerry finally met the  love of his life, Phyllis,  though their time together was short it was rich in love and laughter.  Rest in peace Jerry, now you can be with Phyllis again.

I first met Jerry at Shooters Poolroom in Burnsville when I stopped there to see some of the pool players I knew.  I then ran on to Jerry when I told him I was from St.James and he knew a man from St.James by the name of CY.      I soon found out it was my wifes cousins husband, Cyril Omer.   He had recently passed away and Jerry said that Cy used to come to his poolroom and shoot pool there and they got along great.  He was sorry to hear of Cy's passing and I dialed my cell phone and put his on the phone with Cy's widow, Phyllis.      He expressed his feelings and the next thing, they met for coffee and then for dinner and before too long they moved in together.    They were like little kids.  They then moved to a condo in Fort Myers, Florida and were enjoying themselves until Phyllis came down with Cancer.  She never told Jerry how bad it was and she died shortly after finding out about it.    We made a trip to see them as we drive instead of fly from Minnesota.    We stopped to see him again earlier this year  when our granddaughter played softball in Orlando.       Jerry loved my wifes breakfasts and always looked forward to them.  I had Jerry come to our local poolroom where  we shot some pool and when we took our first trip to Florida, he and I went do Diamonds pool room in Fort Myers and shot some pool.   Jerry was a hard person but had a very soft heart for Phyllis and always talked of his love for her and she for him.    We were glad to get to see him earlier this year.   We did not get to see Phyllis before she passed since it happened so fast.  

Jerry was born on April 5th, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN. Rest in peace dear friend. I learned so much from you. You will be missed.
