Joseph Dale Bougher, 82, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully in his home Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was born on November 10, 1942 to Raymond E. Bougher, and Marian E. (Lewis) Bougher in Frankfort, IN.
On August 3, 1963 he married Janice Carol (Huff) Bougher who was the love of his life. He declared his love and devotion to her until the very end. He would always say that after giving his life to the Lord, she was the best decision he ever made.
Joe was a member of First Assembly of God Fort Myers, FL and pastored churches in Indiana, North Carolina, and Florida. He had a heart for Missions and ministered in the jungles of Peru, as well as built houses for the homeless of Lima, Peru. He enjoyed playing golf and games with his family, but his priority was his love for God and quality time with all his family. He looked forward to the yearly “All Family” vacations. The joy of his life was being a grandpa, whether it be playing in the floor with his grandkids, taking them to McDonalds, on a road trip, or having a good friendly debate when they were grown. His kids, and grandkids knew that he started every day praying for each of them individually.
Joe loved people and his passion was spreading the Gospel every chance he could. He made an impact on many lives on the mission field, in the churches he pastored, his friendships, and most certainly to all his immediate and extended family.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Jan Bougher; daughters Carol (David) Kollar of South Bend, IN and Cheryl Bougher of North Fort Myers, FL; son Joe Bougher of Tulsa, OK; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers Gerald Bougher and Roger Bougher. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Marian Bougher, and sister Janice Bougher.
A celebration of life service will be held in South Bend, IN and dates TBD. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to your home church Missions Fund.
