Joseph Rufus Darna, Jr., 80, of Bokeelia passed away Friday, October 18, 2013. He was born November 22, 1932 in Cayo Costa to Nadine Coleman and Joseph R., Sr. He served honorably in the US Army in the famed 101st Airborne as an Infantry Paratrooper.
Rufus is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Janice; son Joseph, III; daughter Kathy L. Walker; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Trudi Jo and Merri Jo; 2 brothers Randolph “Tiny” and Peter “Pete”; 8 nieces, 10 nephews, many friends including his pet cat and companion “Bullet”.
He is preceded in death by his brother Guy Owen and sister Sandra. He will be missed by all.
