Dr. Joseph J. Silvin, 89, of Cape Coral passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Born in Syracuse, NY on March 23, 1925 to Joseph & Katharine McNamara Silvin, Joseph attended Most Holy Rosary School from kindergarten thru HS in Syracuse, NY.
Upon graduation, Joseph enlisted in the Army Air Corps where he earned his wings and commission. He was stationed at the Motobu Army Air Base on Okinawa when WWII ended.
He attended Marquette University in WI where he was awarded a degree in Dentistry and practiced his profession in Ithaca, NY. Upon his retirement in 1976, Dr. Silvin moved to Cape Coral with his wife and daughter.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Betti Jo Jorgensen; 3 cherished grandsons Joshua, Luke and Nicholas Jorgensen, all of Cape Coral; 2 dear brothers James of Jensen Beach, FL and John of Naples, FL.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Betty.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at Saint Katharine Drexel Church in his memory on Saturday, April 26th at 11am.
