Joyce was born January 2, 1951 in Voorburg, The Netherlands, the beautiful daughter to parents, Sander Fruneaux (father) and Erna Edwine Velt (mother) who have preceded her in death.
Joyce loved reading, watching cooking shows, traveling, playing cards, puzzles, sitting by the campfire, and watching the sunset while enjoying her wine. Joyce grew up in Holland, and was the oldest of seven children.
Joyce’s parents were from Indonesia. Her father was a photographer in the military. Joyce’s mother stayed home and took care of the family. When Joyce was 5 or 6, her father was assigned to take photos in New Guinea, so the family lived there for a couple of years. Then, her parents got sick with Tuberculosis, and were sent to a sanitarium for a while, in Holland. During that period of recovery (a year or two I think), they lived in Leiden Holland with their grandparents.
Joyce graduated from high school and was a bartender, waitress, and small business owner in Holland for many years. John met Joyce at the Holiday Inn in Utrecht, Holland, where she was a bartender. Joyce started traveling to Bloomington to visit John for 6-month intervals, in 1989. They were married September 4, 1992. They bought a lot on Lake Washburn in 1994, and slowly built a cabin with help from family and friends. They lived in the apartments in Bloomington. In 2003, Joyce moved to the cabin and worked at Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd, and John came up on weekends. In 2005, John retired and moved to the cabin, and finally finished building it.
In 2011, John and Joyce moved to Cape Coral, Florida, to enjoy the warm weather and meet new friends. Joyce was a great cook, in both Dutch and Indonesian cuisine. Joyce loved throwing quarters in the pool for her grandkids, going to the casino with her sister, and having a drink and good conversation, with neighbors and friends.
Survived by husband John Leuthard, son Mitch (Amanda) Leuthard, daughters Kristina (Michael) Dewulf, and Alison (Chris) Skelly. Grandchildren Jake and Lauren Jane Leuthard, Ben, Kate, and Rachel Skelly, and Lincoln and Sydney Dewulf.
