Kathy Kay Jones

Kathy Kay Jones passed peacefully after a short battle with Stage 4 colon cancer at Hope Hospice on Sunday, May 22, 2022 in Cape Coral, Florida at the age of 65. In her last days she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born on March 1, 1957 in Springfield, Ohio to Julia and Lawrence Jones. Kathy, who preferred to be called Kat spent the majority of her life in Michigan.

Kat is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Jimmy Ray Jones and Wilde Bill Jones.

Kat is survived by son, Willard Douglas Trotter, Jr. (Jaime) of Fort Myers, Florida, and her daughter, Mandy Kay Reinhart (Shane) of Cape Coral, Florida; grandchildren, Julia Jean Reinhart, Haylea Ann Trotter, Shane Lee Reinhart, Jr., Paige Eileen Trotter, and Hunter Lee Reinhart, as well as siblings, Connie Culp of Piqua, Ohio, Linda Waldron of Springfield, Ohio, and Larry Jones of Kendall, Michigan.

Kat was an avid reader and you would often find her sewing or doing all sorts of crafts from rock painting, diamond art, or even setting up her fairy garden. For the last year and a half she even took up water aerobics. She hung out at her community pool so much that her friends often referred to her as “the lifeguard”.
