Kim Smith, 68, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on May 15, 1958, in Homestead, Florida, she was the beloved daughter of the late Smitty and Shirley (Davis) Smith.
Kim was the rock of her family — the steady, loving presence who held everyone together through every season of life. A devoted mother and grandmother, she worked tirelessly to provide for her children and made sure they always felt supported, seen, and loved. She had a remarkable gift for showing up at exactly the right moments, offering comfort, laughter, or simply her warm, grounding presence.
Known for her sharp wit and infectious humor, Kim brought joy wherever she went. When her children were young, her home became the neighborhood “hang out house,” a place filled with noise, friendship, and the kind of chaos she absolutely adored. More than anything, Kim cherished her grandchildren — her “grandbabies,” who brought immeasurable happiness and light into her life.
Kim’s legacy is one of strength, generosity, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a family forever shaped by her devotion and a lifetime of memories that will continue to inspire and comfort them. Kim was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, gone too soon, but we rejoice knowing they are together again.
Kim is survived by her three loving children, Ja’net, Jen (Darren) and Josh (Jasmine); one sister, Kandy (Steve); one brother, Steve (Terri); five grandchildren, Jaxton, Stiles, Olivia, Stonie and Emerald; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S., Cape Coral, FL. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, Saturday following the visitation at the funeral home.
