Our dear Mother was born March 11, 1938 in Isabela, Puerto Rico, to Juan Carlos Tirado and Sarah Garcia Tirado, who preceded her in death.
She married Eduardo Ocasio August 18, 1956, who preceded her in death November of 1973. After marriage, she moved to Newark, NJ and raised her three children. Leonor was a dedicated mother first and foremost. Leonor was the oldest of her 11 siblings, whom she helped raise. She was known as “Nono” and “Leo” to many of her closest family and friends. She was a woman of faith, love, compassion and good humor.
She worked as a housekeeper, at a local hotel, as she loved to stay busy. She was a Catholic woman of faith and was a member of The Legion of Mary. Her faith was immeasurable, and she dedicated herself to praying for family, friends and for the good of the world. Nono, was the Matriarch of her family and a living example of great strength, compassion and kindness. She will be forever remembered and missed dearly.
Leonor leaves behind 3 children, 8 siblings, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.
She was the loving and devoted mother of Eduardo Ocasio Jr. (Georgina), Wilfredo Ocasio (Aida) and Wanda Ocasio Montalvo (Miguel Jr.). She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.
She was preceded in death by siblings Eli Tirado, Edwin Tirado, Ada Tirado, and survived by siblings William Tirado, Ana Tirado, Lincoln Tirado, Maria Tirado, Miriam Tirado, Jose Tirado, Alexis Tirado and Evelyn Tirado.
She is survived by grandchildren: Jennifer Snell, Roberto Rodriguez, Eric Ocasio, Gina Gomez, Vanessa Caldas, Rebecca Menendez and great grandchildren: Donovan Rodriguez, Eli Rodriguez, Sabrina Sanchez, Hayze Rodriguez, Ayden Snell, Leonardo Caldas and Tristan Caldas. She is also survived by Ceasar Julio Pasapera, Christopher Pasapera, and Christine Pasapera., whom she considered her precious grandchildren as well.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Thursday, May 21st at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20TH Ave, Cape Coral, FL 33991. Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery 1630 SW Pine Island Rd, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
