Linda Rae Smugala

Linda Rae Smugala (nee Voss) of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 21 at the age of 76. Loving wife of the late Robert Smugala; mother of Tom Smugala; sister of the late Diane (Kenny) Sonderman; dear aunt, cousin, and friend.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri to Henry and Alberta Voss July, 18th 1947. Graduate of Southwest High School class of 1967, Linda married Robert Smugala in 1969. Worked for many years at Brown Shoe Company where she met many friends before moving to Naples, FL in 1991. Later years moved back to St. Louis before deciding to leave the cold once more, this time to Punta Gorda to enjoy the warmth during retirement and be closer to family. Linda came out of retirement to help her son with his business at Fleamasters Flea Market where she made many new friends. In her spare time when she was younger she enjoyed trips to Table Rock Lake to go fishing, hanging with her Brown Shoe friends and enjoying the beautiful Southwest Florida beaches.

Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Land O Lakes, FL on Tuesday, January 30, 10:30 am, Burial at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at 2:00 pm. Celebration of life on Wednesday, January 31st 6pm, 2626 Cayes Circle Cape Coral, FL 33991
