Born on January 29, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland, Lois was the beloved daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Granruth) Preston, Sr. She lived a life centered around love—especially for her family, her faith, and her community.
Lois was the heart of her family, and nothing brought her more joy than time spent with her children, grandchildren and her brothers and sister. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her delicious cooking—meals that became cherished traditions for those she loved. An avid reader, Lois could always be found with a book in hand, her curiosity and love of stories a constant companion.
Her deep faith was a guiding light throughout her life. A devoted member of Abiding Love Lutheran Church in Cape Coral, Lois was actively involved in her church family, finding strength and purpose in her spiritual community.
Lois also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved boxers, who were more like family than pets. She and her late husband, Robert Crusan, shared a passion for the open road, often riding together with their motorcycle club and participating in events and special rides that brought them joy and camaraderie.
Lois will be remembered for her generous spirit, her unwavering devotion to her loved ones, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Crusan; brother, Harry Preston, Jr.; her grandson, Derek Mount; as well as her daughter-in-law, Shawnda Whitlock.
Lois is survived by her three children, Denise Pazdan and her husband, Stanley Pazdan, Sr, Dennis Whitlock and Kevin Whitlock and his wife, Susan; four grandchildren, Weston Pazdan, Cynthia Shortell, Preston Whitlock and his wife, Ashley and Jacob Whitlock; two great grandchildren, Derek Pazdan and Rylee Shortell; three siblings, William Preston and his wife, Joyce, Phyllis Bobay and her husband, Robert “Bob” and James Preston, Sr and his wife, Nancy; the father of her children, George Whitlock, Jr. and his wife, Sharon; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Lois’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, November 21, 2025, at Abiding Love Lutheran Church, 3205 Chiquita Boulevard S., Cape Coral, FL. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:00 AM until the service time.
