Louis “Lou” Joseph Armani, 88, of St. James City, FL passed away on July 12, 2013. He was born on January 28, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to Moderanno and Caterina Armani. Lou was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. In 1950 he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Pratt Institute and completed post-graduate work in Radar Systems Engineering at Adelphi University. With the exception of his work on the Apollo Lunar Landing Program, he was engaged in Military Electronics until his retirement in 1987. He received several commendations for his contributions and was highly regarded by his peers. Lou was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Pine Island American Legion.
Lou is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Helen Armani; son, Glenn (Jan) Armani; and grandson, Paul Armani, of Denver, CO. He will be missed by all who knew him.
