Ma Concepcion “Connie” Jose Tapiador, 71, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Born on December 8, 1954, in the Philippines to the late Pablo and Julia (Aquino) Jose, Connie lived a life defined by generosity, warmth, and an unwavering devotion to others.
Connie built a long and meaningful career in the healthcare field as a nurse, where her compassion and steady presence brought comfort to countless patients and families. Caring for others came naturally to her—whether in her profession, her community, or her own home, she was always the first to lend a hand, offer support, or share a kind word.
Outside of work, Connie found joy in many passions. She was an avid gardener with a special gift for nurturing orchids, tending to them with the same patience and love she showed the people in her life. She was endlessly personable, always on the move, and happiest when surrounded by friends, neighbors, and family. Cooking was one of her greatest pleasures, and she delighted in preparing meals for anyone who walked through her door—no occasion needed.
Connie also had a deep love for travel. She and her husband shared countless adventures together, especially on the many cruises they enjoyed throughout their marriage. Those trips became treasured memories filled with laughter, discovery, and time spent side by side.
She shared a very special bond with her granddaughter, Lilli. They loved spending time together—shopping, laughing, and cooking Filipino dishes side by side. The weekend before she got sick, she and Lilli had spent those days together doing exactly what they loved: cooking and shopping. She never missed one of Lilli’s recitals and was always her biggest supporter.
Connie’s life was rich with purpose, connection, and heart. She will be remembered for her kindness, her energy, her generosity, and the way she made every person feel seen and welcomed. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the love she poured into the world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Orjalo just three short years ago; as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Felicitas Jose Boeger (Gerald).
Connie is survived by her two loving sons, Mervin Tapiador and his wife, Cristen and Bryan Orjalo and his wife, Abby; four siblings,Guillermo Jose (Edna), Severino Jose (Lydia), Lucia Jose Tinio (Cesar) and Celerino Jose (Marievel); one granddaughter, Lillian; two grand dogs, Cooper and Hendrix; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Monday, March 16, 2026 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S., Cape Coral, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:45 AM, Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Boulevard S., Cape Coral, FL 33904.
