Born May 27, 1937 in St. Elizabeth, Manhattan, NY to Elsie and John Rue. Most of Marlene’s life she was a fabulous clerical worker and late in life graduated from Barry University as a social worker. Married John Dougherty in 1963, Marlene loved her family raising 3 sons and a daughter. One of her passions was helping raise foster children as she was a highly recognized advocate. She married James Morzella in 1994. Marlene enjoyed retirement and traveling with her husband Jim – they were inseparable. In her lifetime she spent many years in New York, Iowa, Florida and California spending time with her children and grandchildren and loving being a part of their ever-changing lives. With her daughter, she was always up for a cup of coffee and donut.
Marlene is survived by her husband Jim; 3 sons Sean (Melinda), Todd (Vicki), Kirk (Jenny); daughter Carrie (Dennis, Toby); 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. Jims sons – Jimmy (Rhonda), Steve (Kathy), David (Dawn), Andy (Willow), Eric (Laurie) and grandchildren.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers Dale and John.
Marlene enriched so many lives and through her undying love, will be forever remembered and dearly missed.
