Mary "Jenny" Blake (Childers) was born on April 6, 1932, in Michigan. Following World War II, her family relocated to Columbus, Ohio, where she spent her formative years. Jenny, the youngest of six siblings, embraced life with an open heart and a welcoming spirit.
Known for her warmth and compassion, Jenny endeared herself to all who crossed her path. Her selflessness shone brightly during her tenure at a Salvation Army spouse abuse shelter in Florida, where she extended aid to families in need. Additionally, she dedicated herself to various volunteer roles within churches and schools, demonstrating her commitment to serving others. An avid lover of music, Jenny found joy in sharing her passion with those around her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Wayne, Brenda, and Connie, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jenny was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry, as well as her parents, sisters, and brother.
Jenny's love for her family knew no bounds, evident in the countless walks she took while lending an ear to their thoughts and concerns. Among her cherished traditions was the Easter Sunrise Service, a treasured occasion spent with loved ones on the beach.
In honoring Jenny's life, a private family celebration of her remarkable journey will be held. May her spirit of kindness and generosity continue to inspire all who were touched by her presence.
