Mary Ann Lehman

Mary Ann was born on April 14, 1934 to the late Kahle and Dorothy (Lemasters) Asher in Middlebourne WV. After Mary Ann graduated from Timken High School in 1952, she went on to work as a librarian at the Timken Company in Canton Ohio where she spent 30 years and retired at age 48.

In 1954, Mary Ann married Ray Lehman in Canton, Ohio. They shared 48 years together before Ray passed in 2002.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her only sibling, Roy (Joyce) Asher, who passed in 2004. She is survived by her nephew Jeff (Kim) Asher of Sunbury Ohio.

Mary Ann and Ray enjoyed their animals over the years, having many cats and dogs and also some large aquariums. She was very fond of red and white petunias. After Ray sold his business and retired, they moved to Cape Coral Florida in 1986. After Ray passed, she became even closer to her neighbors (especially Dee Dennis and Joe Favazza) on SE 23rd Terrace and she shared many fond memories. Mary Ann would drive back to Canton and spend the summer at her trailer in the Springwood Lake Camp Club near Canton and enjoyed being with her old friends. Mary Ann was a baptized believer at a young age and she attended church regularly. From Middlebourne Church of Christ until age 8 and then 9th St Church of Christ in Canton for many decades and more recently Gulf Coast Church of Christ in Cape Coral, where she met Dianne and Bob Allen. Dianne spent a lot of time helping her, as she would visit her in the nursing home and bring her supplies and pray and sing to her.

A graveside service will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home in Cape Coral on May 25th at 10:00am.
