

Born on September 17, 1938, in St. Catherine, Jamaica, Mavis was the daughter of Walter and Matilda Soares and the fourth of ten children. She dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a Home Health Aide before retiring.
Mavis enjoyed living an active and fulfilling life. She faithfully walked two miles each day and loved traveling to visit family and friends, creating cherished memories wherever she went. She will be remembered for her caring heart, strength, and devotion to those she loved.
Mavis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Neville Wilson.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Roderick Wilson of Ocoee, Florida; her daughters, Susan Triggs of Cape Coral, Florida, and Vena Wilson of Connecticut; her sisters, Miriam Wright and Agatha Mitchell; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S., Cape Coral, FL 33991, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life service to follow.
