Still missing my friend,
Always in my heart

I share everyone's sense of shock, grief and loss at Mikes passing.  Mike has been my friend for 30 years and for the majority of those years, my best friend. We have previously worked together, occasionally lived together and all along the way shared all of the ups and downs that life brings. There is not a more true friend than Mike. He was my brother, in every sense of the word. His  loyalty, kindness and devotion was unwavering. I know I am not the only person who feels this way. He was the most giving person I have ever met.  If Mike was your friend, he was your friend! and he would be there for you. Count yourself lucky. There was nothing Mike wouldn't do for a friend.  There are so many stories of Mikes devotion, not just driving 50 miles in the middle of the night because your car broke down, which he did, but the more meaningful of what he was like as a friend.  At my most hurt and vulnerable moments, he was there. At my proudest and happiest moments, he was there. My three  children love Mike, the friends of my children love Mike. My girlfriend Darshine loves Mike. Upon meeting Mike, she could immediately sense his kind and compassionate nature.
 Our last conversation, Thursday, before he passed, while in extreme pain and discomfort was, "How's Darshine? How are the kids? How's the job? Don't forget I'm going to be your best man at your wedding!"
 That was Mike.....
The memories of us sitting on the porch, smoking  cigars and sharing all that life had given us, the good and the bad, are now so, so cherished.  He touched so many of our lives in such a positive way.

Over the years that I have known Mike, he had  had his fair share of misadventures, miscalculations and mishaps but he always kept a positive outlook. We would always end up laughing and laughing a lot!  And he would repeat for the thousandth time "We gotta write a book" . As I write this now, every memory brings so many tears, which only means, I love him so much and will miss him so much
