

He was born on March 6th, 1950 to Hazel (nee: Gingery) and Robert Shearer in Bucyrus, Ohio.
In 1976, he met Karen Melchior in Bucyrus and they were united in marriage on June 12, 1976 in Jamestown, Tennessee.
In Ohio, Michael was a truck driver for many years as well as a Sheriff’s Deputy and a Volunteer Firefighter. Michael moved his family to Cape Coral in 1986. He worked at Harper Brothers Asphalt, on Pine Island Road, for many years until the plant closed. He and Karen teamed as an owner operator of a tractor trailer for two years.
In 2019, Michael retired and spent his time quail hunting and spending time with his beloved dogs.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 45 years, Karen Shearer; his daughters Annette Warren and her husband Chuck of Cape Coral, Amy Costello and her husband Walter of Evergreen, Colorado, and Mika Shearer of Lehigh Acres; his grandchildren Preston Siner, Bailey Siner, Guy Costello and Isobel Costello; his brother Otis Shearer and his wife Carol of Bucyrus; his sister Norma Brown and her husband Jerry of Bucyrus; and many cousins and extended family.
