Mildred (Millie) Edith Baylor, 94, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 11, 2026, with her family present. Millie was born January 21, 1932, to John Clark and Blanche (Krueger) Baylor in Townsbury, NJ.
She is a graduate of Phillipsburg High School, Class of 1950, and continued to enjoy the rivalry with Easton High School, always wanting to know who won the football game each Thanksgiving. After receiving her RN degree from Kings County Hospital, she joined the Air Force, and was proud to have served her country as a First Lieutenant.
She married Thomas Patrick Byrne in 1960, and had three daughters (Cathy, Cindy and Carol) with him. Tommy passed away in 1968.
In 1970, Roy and Millie were married, and moved the family to Fort Myers.
Millie worked as an RN with Lee Memorial Health System until her retirement in 1994, and immediately became a dedicated volunteer, racking up 3,100+ hours.
Millie loved her family and family get togethers, and went to as many Baylor and Krueger family reunions as she could get ‘up north’ for. In 2012, she was excited to go to a Baylor family reunion with her 3 girls. She was always game to join Roy in his various hobbies and interests: riding motorcycles or dune buggies; team scorekeeper for the many years he played softball; camping with their friends in the local WBICC (Airstream) club in Florida parks, with favorite campgrounds being Franklin Locks, Highlands Hammock State Park, Koreshan State Historic Site, Oscar Scherer State Park, and Alafia River State Park. She was even (somewhat reluctantly) Treasurer of the local Wally Byam Club at least two times, when Roy was President. She played tennis well into her 70’s with friends, and also enjoyed watching tennis matches on TV. Millie was a football and baseball fan, and was happy watching any game that was on. Millie attended Fort Myers Christian Church, and for a number of years was one of the volunteers who changed the messages on their board.
Millie is survived by children Roy Dalrymple and his wife Lynda of East Setauket, NY, Cathy Tileston and her husband Jon of Odessa, FL, David Dalrymple and his wife Yadira of Quitman, GA, Cindy Syms of Fort Myers, FL, Edward Dalrymple of Inglis, FL, and Daniel Dalrymple and his wife Deborah of Fort Myers, FL; Grandchildren Justin, Gabrielle, Christopher, Emily, Marc, Amber, David, Teri, Brooke, Paige, Raven, Matthew, Michelle, and Devon; and Great-Grandchildren Leo, Mia, Nico, Violet, Xander, David, Lucas, Max, and Madeline. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Roy Dalrymple, daughter Carol Woods, brothers John Baylor, Leroy Baylor, Harold Baylor, and Ralph Baylor, sisters Rosanna Deemer and Evelyn Baylor, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 4th at Fort Myers Christian Church, 5916 Winkler Road, Fort Myers, FL 33919, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall to allow family and friends to gather, reminisce, and share a meal.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Hope Hospice, Fort Myers Christian Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
