

Norman was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Not long after he was born, his parents moved the family to Waterbury, Connecticut for better employment opportunities for his father. Waterbury is known as the capital of the world within the copper and brass industry. In 1937, Norman's mother took him to London, England to spend time with her parents. In October of 1939 the war broke out and because Norman was an American citizen, he and his mother fled by boat to America. They came to Ft. Myers, Florida and lived. Norman graduated from Ft. Myers High School in 1951.
After graduation, Norman went back to Connecticut and worked in the brass and copper industries until he was drafted into the US Army. He served 2 years in North Japan. When discharged from the Army, he went back to work in the copper plant. In 1957 he and his wife build their home in Cheshire, Connecticut where they raised 7 children and today still own that home. His father and father in law, each owned a grocery store, in which Norman went to work with his father first, then his father in law afterwards. When he retired he moved to N. Ft. Myers where he bought his condo. Norman is very proud of his 7 children, 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The whole family has been able to see all 50 states. Norman follows West Point football closely, one of his sons graduated from West Point. He also likes to follow Connecticut Girls Basketball. Norman keeps busy by following sports and learning how to use his new Ipad. Norman made the crossings his home in February of 2018.
