Peter Biagio Sanfilippo of Babcock Ranch, Florida and longtime previous resident of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, July 24, 2026 following some recent health setbacks. He was 91 years old.
Peter was born on June 29, 1935, in Sciacca, Sicily, Italy, and was the loving husband to Joanne who sadly preceded him in death in 2021. The couple were married in their common hometown of Sciacca on September 11, 1961 and moved to United States thereafter. They settled in Massachusetts. Together they had two daughters Margaret Sanfilippo-Smith and Anna Angiulo and a son Charles Sanfilippo. Peter was also a proud grandfather to Francesco Angiulo, Samantha Horton, Melissa Norton, Nicole Murphy, Stephanie Trenholm and Victoria Smith and three great grand daughters Stella and Skyler Murphy and Jakai Smith whom he also leaves behind to cherish his memory.
A Funeral Service for Peter will be celebrated by Deacon Joe Hopgood at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 inside the Remembrance Events Center at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S, Cape Coral, Florida 33991, (239) 283-0540. Guests are invited to gather for an hour and one-half in advance of this ceremony for Visitation beginning at 10:30 AM also inside the funeral home chapel. At the conclusion of these ceremonies, friends and family will recess to adjacent Coral Ridge Memorial Park and Cremation Gardens where Peter will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife Joanne at their Crypt inside the Memory Garden Mausoleum III.
