I only met Randy five years ago. Somehow his invitation to join the American Legion felt like an order from a commanding officer. His passion for the Legion and his commitment to it were so fierce I had no choice but to "check it out." That commitment happened to be infectious. I miss Randy and will miss all that he gave to Post 1. We will try to follow in his footsteps, but we can never hope to fill the tracks he left behind. Post Everlasting has welcomed the finest representative it could ever hope to have.

It’s hard to believe you are no longer here. I will truly miss you. You have been my friend for 30 years. It was my pleasure to help you through some troublesome times. You finally found the love of your life when you met and then married Linda.
I will miss our annual phone calls on our respective birthday, being only 8 days apart.
Rest In Peace my friend.
