

Dr. Richard Lewis Osberg, Sr., 83 of Fort Myers, FL passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010. He was born on June 17, 1927 in Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL to Emil Arthur and Ellen Marie Osberg. He attended grade school and high school on the North West side of Chicago. He received his B.A. at Huntington University in Huntington, IN, his Master of Arts from Trinity University in Deerfield, IL and his Doctorate from Ball State in Muncie, IN. Dr. Osberg was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. He served 13 years as Chaplain and Professor of Christian Education at Huntington University and 42 years preaching in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana. He is a member of McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 60 years, Beverly Osberg; sons, Richard L. (Debra) Osberg, Jr. of Knox, PA and Dennis L. (Debra) Osberg of Tegucigalpa, Honduras; 7 grandchildren, Richard Osberg, III, Brian Osberg, Jennifer Williams, Bradley Osberg, Eric Osberg, Graham Osberg and Amanda Osberg; three great grandchildren, Matthew Thomas William, Jr., Samson Osberg and Emery Osberg; brother, Emil Arthur Osberg, Jr of California; sister, Phyllis Rogers of Nevada.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral. Funeral Services will be at 10 am on Wednesday at the funeral home.
