Richard will be in my thaughts often we spent some great times togeather and he taught me a lot he has been my dad sense mine past and i love him for that.the best of all he gave me his daughters hand. Thanks richard

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. The Dr. Phillips High School community will always remember the wonderful teacher and person who led our social studies department and we have missed him since he left. What I will remember most is how devoted Rich was to his wife and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you

Rich was a wonderful friend and godfather to my daughter.  Sadly,  we lost contact several years ago,  but Rich and JoAnn have always been in my thoughts.  Thank you for being there when times were difficult,  for all the laughs and for being like family!  My thoughts are worth you,  JoAnn.

Uncle Rich's spirit will go on in each of us...in our hearts and memories and spirit. He was kind, funny, smart, and an inspirational teacher. He will be missed deeply. Love and hugs go out to all his family and friends.

I haven't known Rich very long but the times I talked to him he was very pleasant & fun. I know he will be greatly missed by his loving family & the guys in the car club.

Richard was a good man, a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  Both Rich and Jo always made us feel welcome in their home.  He was very proud of his veggie garden and we always had fresh produce to eat.  It's "5 o'clock somewhere", so a toast to a great man. God has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts.

Richard will be missed as a very good friend and a great person to be around with a wonderful wife and family

Few men loved their country more than he, and fewer still were as devoted to their families and friends.  The world is a lesser place for Rich's absence.  Your memory will brighten the days of those you have left behind, dear friend, and we shall take solace in knowing that we will be united again, when the time is right.

Van and I are saddened by your loss.  We remember the good times and visiting you in NC.  A card is being sent to Coral Ridge Funeral Home. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Uncle Richard was the kind of man that is rare to come across and a true blessing to his family. We are grieving with you, and send our love.

Uncle Richard you will be missed I have so many memories of you. All the stories you told when we would visit in NC and all the times you came to stay at our house. You were a loving person and will truly be missed.

My sweet grandfather will be missed more than words can express. He was amazing.He was always supportive and there for anyone who needed him and an inspiration to everyone he met. He was loving and caring, a great teacher, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Kaylee and Neyland adored him. We will all miss having our time with him but will forever carry him in our hearts. We love you grandpa! Praying daily for all the family and friends and especially for my grandmother, his wife of 49 years.

Richard has been a friend for many years. We will forever cherish the great memories we made with him, knowing him has enriched our lives.  We have so much love for Richard and can't imagine life without him but take comfort in knowing he's in the loving embrace of our Father.  JoAnn, we grieve for you and with you.
