

Rita was born September 21, 1946 on the lower east side of Manhattan to Joseph and Minnie Gramovot. She would move to Queens in 1955 and attended Queens College where she would study to become a school teacher eventually earning her Master’s degree in education.
Rita met her husband Richard Pudlin in 1964 and they married in 1967. They would be married for 55 years until his passing in 2022. They lived in Queens and had a son, Michael in 1971 and moved to Staten Island in 1972. They would then have a daughter Robin in 1974.
Rita was a New York City Junior High School teacher for close to 30 yrs teaching Language Arts in Staten Island and Brooklyn. This was her passion and loved all her students as if they were her own kids. Rita enjoyed playing Mah Jong and any type of cards. Her passion was playing poker with friends and family. She also loved her Atlantic City trips and cruises with friends and family. Rita loved to bake with her grandkids and they could not wait to sample her famous Mandel bread once it was done. Her kids and grandkids wanted for nothing as she spoiled them to no end. She was an outgoing, talk to anyone type of person and considered most people she met a friend. There are too many friends to mention but she loved them all and will be immensely missed by every one of them.
Rita is preceded in death by her husband Richard and is survived by a Son, Michael Pudlin and his wife Dawn, a daughter Robin Lapkin and her husband Scott as well as 6 grandchildren Kayla, Samantha, Michael Jr., Marlo, Jordana and Dillon as well as 4 great-grandchildren Nicholas, Elliot, Sophia and Landon.
A graveside service for Rita will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
