Robert C. Holmes, Sr., 86 of St. James City, FL passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012. He was born on Brooklyn, NY to Frank and Isabell Holmes. Robert was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was the Public relations Director for the Town of Islip and Suffock County. He enjoyed radio and worked as a D.J. for WALK and WILM. Robert moved to St. James City in 1989 and enjoyed boating.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Edith; sons, Robert and John; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, George; sister Lorraine Foley.
