Robert David Widenor

Mr. Widenor was born September 10, 1942, to J. Howard and Virginia Widenor in Wilmington, DE. He graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy with a rank of Staff Sargent, in Wayne, PA. He graduated from John F. Kennedy College, in Wahoo, NE with a degree in Sociology. Bob was in the Army and Air Force while in college. Bob worked at Wilmington Trust CO as a Trust Administrator. He opened his own business, Parcel Depot and Suburban Music, in Wilmington, DE. He also worked part-time for over 30 years at Doherty Funeral Home.

Bob was very active in his community and was on many different boards when he lived in Wilmington, DE. He was on the Fairfax Civic Association board, High Point Swim Club board and the local chapter of the Civil War Round Table. Bob was also a very active member in the Brandywine High School Marching Band Pit Bulls Team. Bob stayed just as active when he moved to Cape Coral, FL. He was a member of the RAFC (Fishing Club) and was an active leader in the SWFL Civil War Club, where he was able to make a wonderful group of friends. He was a huge fan of the Nebraska Football Team.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia A Widenor and his father, J. Howard Widenor. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Paula Axsom Widenor of Cape Coral, FL; his daughter Deborah (Debbie) Widenor of Cape Coral, FL; his son David (Dave) Widenor of Annapolis MD; and his sister Susan Widenor Kreuer and her husband Greg of Atlanta, GA. He had numerous family members and friends that will miss hearing his stories.

A service will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home on March 18, 2023 at 10 A.M., followed by a reception at the funeral home.

Interment will be privet and at sea.
