Ron Barrett, 76, of Cape Coral passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Ron was born on February 3, 1943 in Attleboro, MA, the son of Roland and Emma (Rondeau) Barrett. Ron graduated from Tolman High School in 1961 and later joined the Navy serving his country on a carrier ship during the Bay of Pigs. After his military service, Ron returned to Pawtucket, RI and worked with his father as a carpenter. He later started his own contracting business in Cumberland and the surrounding towns of RI. Ron met and married Lucille Sylvestre in 1980 and lived in Cumberland, RI where they spent many enjoyable weekends on their boat and had the privilege of meeting lifetime friends. In 1995 Ron and Lucille moved to Cape Coral, FL. Ron worked as the maintenance manager at Jerry’s Foods in Sanibel, FL until his retirement. After retiring, Ron joined the Sea Hawks Club in Cape Coral. He began building and flying radio control planes with the friends he met through the club. Ron also loved music and began playing the organ. After a few lessons and an ear for music he became an accomplished organ player and enjoyed playing for his friends and family. Ron’s creative side was very impressive. He became fascinated in art of fused glass and enjoyed creating a variety of items from wind chimes to very intricate pieces of art. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Lucille. A gathering will be held Tuesday, October 1st at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd., S., Cape Coral, between the hours of 10 - 11am with a memorial service to follow.

Lucille my heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow. You are in my thoughts in prayers. I have fond memories of times spent with you and Ron. Ron built my very first home in Cumberland, RI. Ron and You were gracious enough to let me borrow money so I could attend the police academy 19 years ago. You will never know how much that kindness meant to me as 19 years later, I remain in law enforcement because Ron and you believed in me. Many blessings sent your way.

I am so sorry for your loss...Ron was such a kind, wonderful man. While working at Jerry's Foods, Sanibel, Ron was so kind to my Dad, Jerry of Jerry's Foods. While my parents were staying on Sanibel during the winter, Ron would stop at the store to pick up Apple Fritters and a newspaper for my Dad. He would then deliver them to him at home, have a cup of coffee and visit with him for awhile....a highlight of my Dad's day.
With our deepest condolences,
Charlotte Paulsen Shadduck

Ron trained me on the water machines at Jerry's on Sanibel. Excellent trainer, very thorough and detailed. He introduced me to many of the staff at Jerry's. You could tell how much he enjoyed working there and for Midwest Best Water! He will be missed. Especially his sense of humor and his friendly manner in which he greeted anyone that he met!

Ron will be missed. A great guy. I met him about 20 years ago when he worked at Jerry's Foods Sanibel,FL. He did maintenance / service for our company on our bulk water machines. He was very mechanical, handy, helpful , trustworthy and very kind man. I'm glad he is no longer suffering. Prayers to his family and friends at this tough time.
