Rose (Marano) Gambino passed peacefully early in the morning of August 4, 2020 surrounded by her adoring and doting family. She was born November 7, 1935 to her loving parents, Joesph & Rosa Marano in Brooklyn, NY.
Rose is survived by her four children, Eluise (Pete Paskewicz), Rosalynn (Angelo Berardesca) Teresa (Fred Fiero) and Vincent. Rose also leaves behind her grandchildren who were her world; Dominic, Valentina, Gabriella, Nicholas and Savana.
In addition, Rose was the "favorite" aunt to her nieces and nephews, along with her great nieces and nephews, especially her "little munchkins" who added extra sunshine to her world.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents; Joesph & Rosa Marano, her brother Calogero, her sisters; Concetta Bonsignore & May Tutrone, her beloved nephew Joseph Bonsignore and her Brother-in laws; Joesph Bonsignore and Gaspar Tutrone.
Anyone who knew Rose, knew that her heart was pure, her love for all was grand and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved music, singing, clapping, a good laugh, being with loved ones and her all time favorite treat, pistachio ice cream!
Her genuine spirit was without complications, without judgement and full of the purest form of love. As a Mom of four children, Rose lived her life to love and care for her children. She never considered anything for herself until she knew that her children were fed, taken care of, provided for and happy. She never put anyone before her children, ever, that is until her grandchildren came along. She was the most loving, kind, giving and selfless Mom and Grammy, more than anyone could imagine.
Many people have complimented the care and devotion Rose was shown by her children and grandchildren, but in reality, it was just a reflection of the amazing person she was.
If you were lucky enough to be in her home, then you were family; you were comfortable and you were fed. From a flat in "downtown" Brooklyn to her "basement" in Sheepshead Bay, to Staten Island and New Jersey, the minute you walked in, you knew that this is what home feels like.
Rose was loved by many, the best "Gram" to more than her own grandchildren and everyone's favorite person. She will be greatly missed by anyone that knew and loved her. Rest assured, she's in Heaven; pain free, without ailments or disease. She's whole, she's renewed and she's surrounded by her family and friends that she missed terribly. All the angels were waiting for her while the Good Lord greeted her with open arms and said, "well done, my good and faithful servant."
Visitation will be 2:00-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm on Sunday, August 9th at Coral Ridge Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Monday, August 10th at 11:00am, with entombment to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
