
Shirley I. Hadley, 92, of Cape Coral, passed away Nov. 12, 2015. Shirley was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family, church and helping others. She was born in New London, CT to Howard S. and Caroline M. Ives and was the eldest of three children. She married Ralph W. Hadley in 1950. They had three children and lived in Ledyard, CT before retiring to Florida in the 1980s.
Shirley was a longtime active member of Cape Alliance Church and served in many volunteer and leadership roles. While living in Conn., Shirley was very active in the Girl Scouts of the USA.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Ralph W. Hadley and by her brother, Howard Ives. She is survived by her three children: Barbara Howard of Cape Coral, Laurie (husband Donald) Jedlick of St. James City, and R. Jonathan Hadley of Sedona, AZ, as well as one sister, Elaine Schultz, of New York state. Shirley is also survived by grandchildren Shad Howard, Cape Coral; Seth Howard, Cape Coral; Jennifer Williamson, Matlacha; Richard MacNeil, Tampa; and Joshua MacNeil, Cape Coral; and their spouses. She is survived by several great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Cape Alliance Church, 4307 Skyline Blvd., Cape Coral, FL Memorial contributions may be made to Cape Alliance Church, 4307 Skyline Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33914. Arrangements are being handled by Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery.
