Born on November 11, 1955, Steve lived life on his own terms—boldly, passionately, and unapologetically. He had a deep love for music, laughter, and the people he held close. Whether it was the soundtrack of classic rock playing in the background or the stories he told with unmatched charisma, Steve left an impression that won’t soon fade.
He was the devoted and loving husband of April Chikitus, whose partnership and bond with him stood strong through the years. He was a proud father to Jason T. Chikitus, Stephanie E. Chikitus, Ryan A. Chikitus, and a deeply cherished grandfather whose legacy will carry on through the generations he adored.
Steve is also survived by his loving brother, Tony Chikitus, along with many treasured grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will remember him for his strength, humor, and unmistakable presence.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Stephanie E. Chikitus; his sister, Lynn “Cookie” Chikitus; his brother, Michael W. Chikitus; and his brother, Allen Burke—each of whom he carried in his heart.
Steve's life was one of passion, resilience, and individuality. He didn’t just live—he made sure you felt it. His memory will echo on in every guitar riff, every laugh shared, and every moment lived a little louder because of him.
