Teresa Vicchio-Pedraja

Born on January 4, in Bronx, New York, Teresa lived for many years on City Island, New York and enjoyed her later years of retirement in Cape Coral, Florida. Teresa lived a life of grace, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Teresa spent her career as an educator in the New York education system, with an achievement of her master’s degree in business. She spent many years teaching her students’ stenography, typing skills, and helping her students obtain business related employment. She was known for her kind heart, sharp wit, fierce advocacy, and always remembering to send her family cards to recognize holidays, birthdays and their celebrations. Her impact will be felt for generations.

Teresa and her husband Robert Pedraja celebrated over forty-four years of marriage and who cared for her until her unexpected passing. Teresa’s spirit and strength uplifted all who knew her.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law Rosemarie Ashworth of Oakland Park, Florida, brother-in-law, Ralph Pedraja of Margate, Florida. Loving nieces and nephews including River (Kris) Brundage of New York, Derek Ashworth of Virginia, Celena King (William), John Ashworth (Marsha) both of South Florida, and Natalie Getty of South Carolina. Teresa is also survived by her much-loved grand-nieces and nephews including Michael, Tyler, Madison, Anara and Aurian. Teresa was preceded in death by her loving sister Nina, brother-in-law Tom, her nephew Jeffrey, her brother who passed as a child and her parents Vincent and Felicia Vicchio.

All who knew and loved Teresa are welcome to honor her memory privately.

Teresa’s light remains with us—in our hearts, in our stories, and in the lives, she touched so profoundly. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
