

Thelma Comeau Macone, 88, of Cape Coral Florida, formerly of Carlisle, Massachusetts passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on August 26, 2014.Thelma was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts on June 15, 1926. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Frederick William, her parents, Rosilda (Gallant) and Henry Comeau, her brothers, Henry, and John and his wife Mary, and sisters Dorothy Delorenzo and Roslyn Amerio and her husband Robert.Also preceding her in death, her children Daniel Macone, Jane Story, and son in law Robert H. Smith III. Thelma attended Shepard-Gill School of Practical Nursing in Boston Massachusetts. While working at Emerson Hospital in Concord Massachusetts she met her future husband Fred.After raising their family of nine children in Carlisle, Massachusetts she and Fred divided their time between New Brunswick, Canada and Cape Coral Florida. In Cape Coral she was a devout member of St Andrew Catholic Church where she served many years as a Eucharistic minister. The St Andrew Catholic Women's Club (CCW) was an important aspect of her life where she served and was committed to many civic and community activities, often for the less fortunate. Social activities and travel were important to Thelma, in fact she spent many enjoyable hours with her good friends and family playing cards, attending many local theatre presentations, and having fun at the slot machines. Genealogy was another passion of Thelma's and her extensive travels around the world allowed her to explore and record her family heritage. She was always busy and on the go, frequently, her children would have to check her calendar schedule for her whereabouts.Thelma is survived by a large loving family including her brother Mark Comeau of Cape Coral, sister in law Sheila Comeau of Newburyport, Massachusetts, and children Nicholas Macone, William Macone and his wife Carol, Betsy Macone Bautista and her husband David, Kathleen Macone Mock and her husband Stephen, and son-in-law James Story, all of Cape Coral FL, Joanne Macone Smith, wife of the late Robert H. Smith III of Hollywood, FL, Marcia Macone Lange and her husband Gordy of Homer Alaska, and Timothy Macone and his wife Helen of Alva Fl.Thelma was a most devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all and in a very special way by her grandchildren Rob, Meg, Tina, David, Brian, Scott, Ryan, Nikki, Stephanie, Michelle, Patrick, Alex, Michaela, Calyn, Joshua and great-granddaughter Mariyah, and many loving neices and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Thelma's life will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 30th at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd, Cape Coral Florida. Visitation will be held 5-8pm, Friday, August 29th at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral Florida. Donations in her memory may be made to Hope Hospice, Cape Coral.
