Timothy “Tim” Matyaszek Sr., age 72, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, with his devoted wife by his side. He was born on July 5, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, to his late parents, Walter and Rose Matyaszek.
Tim fulfilled his lifelong dream of retiring to Florida, where he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife and his cherished pet cockatoo. He was a devoted Cleveland sports fan, with a lifelong passion for the Cleveland Browns.
For 41 years, Tim was the beloved husband of Jenny. Their life together was filled with love, devotion, and happiness. The memories they shared will be treasured forever.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Jenny; his children, Shawn Filmer (Marcia) and Timothy Matyaszek Jr. (Ashley); and his six grandchildren—Grace, Hope, Simon, Thomas, Anna Kate, and Sutton—whom he loved and adored. He is also survived by his brother, Walter Matyaszek Jr. (Peaches). He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Coral (Charles).
The family will not be holding services at this time and may hold a celebration of life at a later date.
